It was a long weekend here and I was determined not to miss my workouts in the name of holidays, out of 3 days, I managed working out for 2 days outdoors in the most beautiful country side near to London.Saying hello to the green meadows, flowers and the little wild creatures on the country side is my favourite past time in the summer months, As gym and home workouts can be often boring ,I find it so refreshing to escape to the countryside woods to have a beautiful day out as well as to add some variety to my fitness routine! There are plenty of beautiful country walks around London and the fact that most of them are just 1-hour away makes it practical to choose for a single day trip without much hassle! If you are in and around London and are bored with your daily indoor workouts, choose one of these destinations that can bring a refreshing change to your (fitness) life. Nothig can beat a good walk in the lap of Mother Nature!

When I decided to lose weight I promised myself that I would not follow any kind of diets that are there on every corner of the Inernet, Instead I would always try to focus on eating wholesome natural foods as much as possible and man that was the best decisions of my life, Infact that decision made me to explore many healthy ingreients and recipes that give sme plenty of time to concentrate on other things in life including driving to the gym without rushing myself!(little pleasures of life <3) I mean look at this recipe which takes not more than flat 10 minutes to prep my meal..May be this is not even a recipe, this is me trying to tell you that we can make incredible healthy choices of home made food even with a busy life style!
As I always say eggs are my go-to sources of protein and I try to include them in breakfast mainly as I always wanted to kick start my day with protein(read it here on why I do)They are easy and quick to cook.Talk about hummus and I might need a whole day to praise its versatility and taste. I just love hummus to the core of my heart, I mean you can use it as a dip for crunchy carrots and my fav sweet potato crackers, spread on a toast or it as-it-is and what not, not to forget it is rich in protein and essential fats like the olive oil. And this time I wrapped in my fav wholemeal tortilla to make it as a complete meal! Well its upto you to eat it for breakfast or lunch , Hummus for breakfast? I can already see those weird looking faces but trust me you will love this hummus-egg combo for breakfast or let’s compromise for a brunch!(but rememeber we weight loss aspirants should never ever skip a meal and especially breakfast) A warm tortialla, frshely scrambled eggs and a dollop of hummus is all you need to reachthis tasty heaven!
I have thrown a bunch of spinach leaves into my eggs but feel free to add any of your fav veggies including peppers, grated carrots, pickled or sun-dried tomatoes to add that extra kick,not to forget the little spices and herbs that take our healthy foods to whole different level! Go make this delicious egg hummus wrap for your lunch tomorrow!
- 1 Wholemeal tortilla
- 1 tablespoon hummus
- ½ teaspoon olive oil
- 2 Eggs(I used one whole egg and an egg white)
- ¾ Cup Spinach leaves
- A pinch of pepper and salt
- Heat olive oil in a small non-stick pan. Add spinach and sauté for one or two minutes until the raw flavour goes off.
- Add in one whole egg and an egg white to the mixture. Cook it well like an omelette and start breaking it into pieces until it gets scrambled. Add in salt and pepper. Keep it aside.
- Warm the tortilla according to the instructions given on the packet. Spoon hummus and spread along the tortilla.
- Spoon in the scrambled egg and sprinkle more salt and pepper if required. Wrap it up and enjoy!

Also add your fav veggies to the scrambled egg like carrots etc and may be some pickled tomatoes too.
Tortillas or wraps are usually less in calories than bread I feel.

Complex carbs make us feel full for a longer time due to their high fiber contents.
