It happened finally, the moment sun started shining in my part of the world, I decided to go for a fun outdoor workout that connects me close to Nature, it should be other than trekking, it should be other than walking, it got to be a trip to ‘Pick Your Own’ Fruit Farm.It happened finally last week before the last batch of crop go.I always wanted to pick strawberries but almost all the arms around London were short of ripen strawberries to my great disappointment.Out of random 8 inquiries, it got to be West Green Fruit Farm in Berkshire which was less than a hour drive for me. The farm was full of strawberries and kids, Yes, these are the two I could think of that sunny day,The farm has a really cute look and the route is surrounded by lush green trees and a cool road that gives a relaxing mood in this hot summer. Luckily that day was neither scorching hot nor raining so it was a kind of heavenly day to pick fruit.
Gone are those days where movies or rides are fun for me, I am lucky enough to be able to feel the sweetness of fresh air and enjoy the sight of lush green trees around me.Moreover these kind of outdoor trips offer not only joy but a good exercise even on weekends in a fun way.Now who wouldn’t love the sight of jumping kids and freshly juicy strawberries around you?I know am kind of constantly chanting about kids and strawberries, but this farm had loads of berries for picking out of which few are not known to me at all, I even loved plucking the tender blackcurrants and raspberries. The farm is set beautifully in Hartney Wintney and serves as a good day out for both adults and kids.It was a good weekend exercise for me to walk,bend and pick some fruit myself, tow birds on shot, heart was filled with joy of picking fresh fruit as well as body thanked for the fun way of physical exercise.Its definitely not so good to be exercising the whole week inside a gym!

And today it’s a smoothies, protein rich chia strawberry shake kind of drink for breakfast, now you can’t make excuses not to make this healthy smoothie that gets ready in less than flat 7 min max. As I always stress about eating protein for breakfast,smoothie is a great way to sneak some protein. Many a time i don’t finish using my whey protein before its expiry date so one good day I decided to use them in smoothies,pancakes and sweet treats. what not!
Now you only need to make up your mind to eat healthy and whole foods, weight loss will only be a bonus to your healthy body! Enjoy this rich and creamy chia strawberry protein shake!
What are some of you summer outdoor workouts?
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- Wash strawberries under running water which is in medium flow.
- Blend the fruit along with almond milk and whey protein until smooth. Make sure the fruit is not stuck underneath the blender jar blades.
- Stir in chia seeds or sprinkle them on top as you wish
- Serve chilled along with a wholemeal toast for a complete real breakfast
Add a dash of vanilla essence and honey for extra taste
Sub strawberries for any other berries
